Worth the Fight Page 5

From time to time, I keep checking the CCTV, making sure that everything is okay down on the floors. So far, everything is fine and dandy, thank God.

I’ve seen Phoenix downstairs doing his rounds a few times, though I’ve not seen him for the last hour, which is strange, as he seemed to have been doing it every thirty minutes for the last couple of hours.

Maybe he’s just busy, I try telling myself, though deep down, I know it’s not that. I know that I saw her here earlier, prowling around and lapping up the attention from horny guys, and now they’ve both just disappeared. Coincidence? I think not.

I know that I should stay here in the safety of my office, where I’m not likely to get hurt or embarrass myself, but since when have I listened to myself? I’m my own worst enemy, I swear.

I get up out of the confines of my comfy office chair and straighten my respectable attire. Tonight, I’m wearing a teal colored blouse with a black pencil skirt that hugs my hips and the top of my curvy thighs, complemented with a pair of black high heels. I’m the epitome of a business woman right now.

Opening my office door, I stand in the middle of the hallway, trying to figure out which one is his office. If I’m correct, it should be two doors down from mine.

With my heels quietly tapping on the blue carpeted floor, I count the doors.

  One.

  Two.

Now what do I do? Do I knock, or do I just walk in?

What if he isn’t in there and I’m standing out here like an idiot? I should just walk in. But what if he is in there and doesn’t want to see me? Maybe I should knock…

Where have your balls gone, Emilia?

Damn that voice again. It’s right, though; where have my balls gone? I usually wouldn’t think twice about interrupting him. We’re not exactly all about pleasantries, are we?

That’s settled then. I’m walking in without permission.

I slowly put my hand around the handle, gripping it tightly for encouragement. I can do this. Just do it quickly, like pulling off a band aid! The handle goes down, and I quietly open the door, but then stop in my tracks. My eyes are glued to the scene in front of me, my body burning up with embarrassment, and is that desire? No, it can’t be. I must be mistaken; it’s got to be disgust. The fire in the pit of my stomach says different though, and the disgust I feel is directed toward me for feeling this way.

My eyes land on Phoenix’s bare ass as he pounds into her, hard and fast and causing his desk to rattle. His peachy cheeks don’t seem to miss a beat, slamming into her at incredible speeds. Judging by the screams filling the room, he’s hitting the spot, and I’m not going to lie; oh how I wish that were me right now. To be sitting atop his desk, being pounded into and being brought to the most intense orgasm of my life... I think I may just from watching.

I know that I shouldn’t be watching. I’m intruding on an intimate moment between two people, but I’m like the cat that got killed from curiosity. No matter how hard I try to tell my brain to move my legs, they just won’t move. It’s like they’re glued to the damn carpet!

Phoenix’s back starts to go rigid under his white shirt, causing it to bunch up tight against his skin.

“Yes, I’m so close!” Her head is thrown back, a scream being ripped from her mouth. I fight to cover my ears. Jesus Christ. Does she have to sound like a banshee? That must be off putting?

Phoenix’s pace increases, pumping into her like lightning, grunting his own release and throwing his own head back.

The way his throat bends and his Adam’s apple bobs up and down is so sexy. What I would give to be able to run my tongue along it while he is in the throws of passion with me.

“Em?” Phoenix’s voice breaks into my thoughts-- my dirty thoughts of him.

Oh God. Now my face is heating up, and I can’t stop it. He’s going to know I was thinking dirty thoughts of us while he was fucking another woman. I truly am disgusting.

“Oh, erm... Never mind,” I stutter, my embarrassment at having been caught making me not able to function my words properly.

I spin around on my heel as if nothing ever happened. We both know that’s a lie though. I’ve just been caught peeping. Oh God, I’m a peeping Tom. I shake my head, mentally scolding myself while picking up my pace to make it back to my office.

  I’m humiliated.

If I don’t see Phoenix ever again, it will be too soon. He knows exactly what I was thinking while watching them, and I bet he’s in his office right now with a smug look on his face, gloating that he finally made me show my affection for him. What was I thinking standing there watching?

As soon as I’m in the safety of my office, I slam the door closed and rush to sit down in my chair, releasing a big sigh. My eyes land on my desk, causing flashbacks of a few minutes ago. My body heats up from the mental images, my sex getting wet from the sheer idea of having Phoenix invading my body. A moan threatens to escape, but I tamper it down. I can’t let this happen. A fantasy is all it is.

I pick up my glass of water, taking a sip to wet my throat that has suddenly gone dry. Just as I put my glass back down on the coaster, my office door flies open and in walks a rumpled Phoenix. His face is furious; his jaw set hard as his icy blues pierce me. Inside, I’m scared as to how he’s going to react. I didn’t expect him to forget that he caught me watching him, did I? But on the outside, I’m acting as cool as a cucumber when I’m anything but.

Phoenix slams the door before storming over to my desk and leaning over it, his arms holding him up and his face practically right in front of mine.

“What. The. Hell. Was. That. About?” Even though his face is showing how mad he is, his voice is calm and calculated. It throws me for a loop. I don’t know how to deal with this side of Phoenix.

My attitude decides to show itself, covering up my embarrassment.

“Well, Phoenix.” Disgust rolls off my tongue as I say his name. “I walked into your office to ask you a question about the orders, and imagine my surprise when I come face to face with your bare ass pounding home into that skank’s pussy.”

His icy blues dance with amusement, his features softening, turning into amusement also. I think I preferred his furious face. This face is mocking me. I don’t like to be mocked, especially by Phoenix.

“Oh, my dear Emilia, you could have walked right back out of the office. So tell me, why didn’t you?” He walks around the desk, coming to stand behind me, his mouth right next to my ear so when he speaks, I can feel his teeth graze my ear. “Did it turn you on to see me fucking somebody else, pounding, as you so put it, into someone else and bringing them to the throws of pleasure? Tell me, my sweet Emilia, did you imagine me doing that to you?” His voice is no more than a murmur, but it rattles through my body and goes straight to my very core.

My throat has gone as dry as the Sahara desert, in serious need of water. I pick up my glass of water again, taking a huge gulp and stalling for time.

“Do you want to know what I was thinking about while I was fucking another woman?” He doesn’t wait for me to answer. He wouldn’t get one anyway. I’m too shocked to reply verbally or physically. “I was thinking that it was your tight, wet pussy wrapped around my straining cock, that it was your pussy bringing me to heaven.” I swallow, hard. “Thing is, my cock knows that it wasn’t your pussy that was wrapped around it, keeping it warm. One day very soon, we’re going to make both of our fantasies come true. I need to see if you feel as good wrapped around me in real life as you do in my dreams.”

Desire shoots straight to my pussy, lighting it on fire. My panties are wet, soaking wet, just from his dirty words. Those dirty words were the complete truth, though I will never admit that it turned me on to see him fucking another woman. That secret will go to the grave with me.

“Cat got your tongue, my sweet Emilia, or are you just speechless because I hit the nail on the head?”

Phoenix spins me around in my chair and crouches down so that he’s eye level with me. His face is
a blank canvas, giving nothing away to how he feels. I need something, anything, to indicate how he’s feeling and what he’s thinking.

I’m panting, my breathing becoming labored from the close contact. And then he does something that sends bolts of electricity through my body. He touches me; a feather like touch on my calves, his hands gently cupping them, but I feel it like he is squeezing them. I’m that sensitive to his touch, a touch that I crave more and more every day.

“So smooth,” he whispers, starting to rub my legs.

I close my eyes, not able to look at him touching me so affectionately.

His hands smoothly, and oh so slowly, move up my legs, making their way under my pencil skirt, which is like a second skin to me but not enough to not allow Phoenix’s hands under it seems. I squeeze my eyes closed tighter. This shouldn’t be happening. I have to stop it before…

A moan escapes me, low and long, as his fingers skim the edge of my panties. My eyes fly open, coming face to face with his lust filled ones.

“Lace, my favorite.” His voice is still calm and collected, while I’m panting like a maniac, gasping for breath.

I’m in turmoil. It’s like I can’t get my mouth to pronounce the word ‘stop’ or get my hands to cooperate to stop his hands from roaming further. Damn my traitorous body. What is happening to me at the moment? I’m becoming weak!

That thought is quickly forgotten when I feel Phoenix slip his hands under my panties and rub down my slick folds.

I gasp and grab onto the arm rests of the chair. Phoenix’s face suddenly shows some kind of emotion. His eyes are burning bright, and his breathing increases a little. It’s nowhere near as fast as mine is right now. I’m struggling to breathe!

My eyes are locked in a trance with his. I couldn’t move them if I tried. I’m under his spell, letting his wonderfully torturous fingers do as they please.

Two fingers enter me and slowly start moving in and out. “Oh God,” I moan, my head falling back against the chair. This is like nothing I’ve ever felt before. This shouldn’t be happening. I push that little voice to the back of my mind, blanking it out. I’ve never felt anything so amazing; my dreams didn’t do this image justice.

Have you forgotten that you just caught him fucking another woman? The voice makes itself known again, trying to ruin my mood. Then Phoenix hooks his fingers, rubbing against my sweet spot while his thumb rubs over my clit, sending tremors through my body. What ever thoughts I was having have disappeared again.

“You feel so warm on my fingers, my sweet Emilia,”

“Oh,” I moan, on the brink of orgasm. I can feel the pleasure swirling, making itself known. Just a few more strokes and I will be falling off the edge of the orgasm cliff, making my way to heaven, and I’m ready. I’m so ready.

  “You’re close.” It’s a statement, not a question.

  “Yes,” I reply breathily.

Then he does something that I can’t comprehend. He stands up.

“NO!” I stand up also, confusion evident on my face.

Phoenix’s lips tip up in a smirk, his eyes having lost that lust filled look that’s now being replaced with contentment.

He lifts his hand up, gently cupping my cheek. I involuntarily lean into it. I need his touch in any way that I can get it right now.

“My sweet Emilia, your body welcomed me well. It responded perfectly just from my fingers. Imagine how it will respond with my cock. This was just a taster. I guarantee that you will be back for more, and I will be waiting eagerly.” I moan in frustration, rubbing my legs together and trying to rid myself of the ache that is taking over my body, needing to be released. “Until then.”

Without another word, he walks out of my office, leaving me sitting here stunned.

  What the hell just happened?

Then it all hits me as if I’d completely blanked out for however long. Phoenix just hypnotized me with his words, getting me exactly where he wanted me – completely bared to him. Mind, body and soul. I’m such an idiot. Until these last few days, I’ve been able to close myself off to him because I’ve hardly seen him. We had no reason to speak to each other, let alone see each other as much as we have been recently. It’s obviously playing havoc with my emotions. Emotions that I’ve managed to keep closed off until now.

  Argh!

I’m frustrated at myself for giving in to him, and I’m frustrated that I also need release because of how turned on he has made me.

  I’m crumbling.

I can’t let that happen. I can’t allow Phoenix to think that he has this hold over me. I need to be the tough woman again, heartless and cold. Not this mess who feels and surrenders herself.

I don’t know if I can put that wall back up…

  Chapter Six

“I’ve been wanting to do this all night. Since you walked out of your house in this tight little dress, hugging every single one of your curves, I’ve thought of nothing else,” Phoenix murmurs, holding on to my hands.

Before I have a chance to ask what, his lips come crashing down upon mine, knocking the wind out of me. His hands leave mine, one of them grabbing onto my hip and squeezing, while the other holds on to the back of my head, holding me to him so that I can’t move.

I wouldn’t want to move even if I could. I’ve dreamt of this moment for years, except I never imagined it would feel as good as it does now.

His lips fit perfectly against mine, like they were made for each other. They are warm and soft against mine. Addictive. Home.

Phoenix’s tongue seeks entry into my mouth, and I eagerly allow him access. Our tongues are in a slow dance, getting faster the more heated the kiss gets.

I’m being pulled flush against his body, the hand on my hip digging in, promising a bruise; a bruise that I will welcome as memory of this perfect moment.

A moan slips from my mouth. Usually I would be embarrassed. I’m too occupied though.

“God, you’re so addictive. Please make me stop.”

Huh? I’m about to ask why, until I feel something hard pressing into my stomach, making me gasp. I pull away, feeling completely lost as soon as our lips lose contact. Phoenix doesn’t let go of his hold on me, but rests his forehead on mine, his icy blues staring straight into my dark ones, panting heavily. I’m in exactly the same position, struggling to catch my breath.

  “Thank you,” Phoenix whispers.

“For what?” I reply, my voice also a whisper.

“For allowing my fantasy to come true. I’ve wanted to do that for as long as I can remember.”

I’m sure the smile that spreads across my face could rip it in half, that the smile is so big.

I love you, I think, though I daren’t say it out loud. This is a secret that I will keep to myself until I know that he feels the same. If he ever feels the same.

“Come on. Let’s go back inside. People are probably wondering where we’ve gotten to.”

And just like that, the spell is broken, leaving me dismayed.

For the rest of the night, I keep touching my lips, feeling the tingle in the place where Phoenix’s lips were. I can’t wait to feel them on mine again.

My eyes snap open, my breathing harsh. My fingers automatically go toward my lips of their own accord, feeling a tingling sensation there.

  I shake my head.

It was just a dream, for crying out loud.

I’ve been having the same dream for the past week, of my first kiss with Phoenix. Ever since last weekend at the club where Phoenix tried to seduce me, only to leave me a bundle of sexual frustration, I’ve had the same dream, and it’s starting to get on my nerves. I’m trying to become strong again, finding a way to bury those feelings back down where they had been hiding for the past four years, but having this dream repeatedly isn’t helping with the situation. I’m so used to having the nightmares that I’ve had ever since I was a little girl, where I watched my father beat my mother up and send her away, never to be seen again. This dream
is completely different, and I don’t know how to deal with it. I mean, it’s nice to have a reprieve from seeing my nightmare every night, but I would rather just not have any dreams and sleep peacefully, instead of having Phoenix’s face invade my thoughts while I’m sleeping.

Eurgh, I can already tell that it’s going to be a long day today!

I need to get up and get ready. I’m meeting Maxine for our usual Friday lunch date, and looking at the time, I’m going to be late at this rate!

I rush into the shower, washing myself of the sweat coating my body from my annoying dream, wash my hair and then quickly jump out of the shower making quick work of drying myself, and getting dressed. I leave my hair down to dry, and do my make-up, putting on minimal amounts. I don’t have time to spend longer than five minutes after getting out of the shower to get ready so it’s a good job that I’ve never been one for a lot of make-up.

When I’m ready, I grab my cell phone, chucking it into my bag, and rush down the stairs, being careful not to slip down the marble staircase. I’ve fallen down these stairs on many occasions. It’s not pretty.

Making my way into the garage, I fish my keys out of my bag, clicking the button to open the doors.

I press a button on the side of the wall to open the garage gate, then jump into my Mercedes and start the engine. Bastille’s ‘Pompeii’ starts playing, blaring out of my speakers. I tap my leg to the tune, waiting for the gate to open up, before driving off down the driveway that leads to the main road. The convertible top is down, causing my hair to blow in the summer breeze. I love summer in LA.

“I’m sorry that I’m late, again,” I tell Maxine, exasperated. Slumping down into the booth opposite her in our regular café, I take a sip of my cappuccino that she ordered for me.
